Re:
Well there you go and a few years ago I took my Mini to a garage to get the headlamp beams aligned. This was straight after it received new front wings and A'panels and it was almost like new.
I noticed that one of those spire nuts fell on the floor after the garage bloke removed one of the headlamp rings. So when he came to refitting the ring he told me that he couldn't fix the screw back due to rust.
Then I handed him the spire nut he'd dropped and told him there was no rust as it had only just had a new front end fitted.
Stupid garages.

Personally headlamp peaks not my thing but all rest sounds fab aslong as the mini not majorly old they tend to look better natural! I got bought chrome gutter trim for my birthday, suttle but fantastic also chrome door handles always do the trick. Have seen chrome wipers about. Get a mini mag if you cant find them on mini spares (give them a ring to check) then have a look in a mini mag. Good luck - Merry Xmas!!!!! P.s - i only know what it think looks good- mechanics is way over my head so know exaclty what you mean if it wasnt for the fact ive got a couple and have read way too many mags wouldnt know wear to start. Wouldnt it be so much easier if all theyt wanted was a cd or some cloths?

I am very sad to say that I am selling my beloved Mini City E. She's a 1988 (F reg) 998cc, red mini. Here's some pics of her. 998 with a stage one kit with a 2" centre exit exhaust (2" full system), classic bucket seats, charcol dash, new black carpets, 'Tims' tacho, drivers 3point harness, Quadoptic headlamps with halogen bubls, 12" alloys (145/70R12) new front subframe mounts, new brake pads and shoes all round, electrics recently sorted (a few earth problems), there is small amouts of surface rust in all the usual places, and a few worse bits on the A-pannels etc. if your interested or want more pics, send me an e-mail studge2@hotmail.com, or give me a ring 07738 670 848. I'm looking for around £1150 for her as a quick sale is needed to free up space on the drive. Thanks for looking Stuart

Headlamp
Very easy if you're just replacing the sealed beam type of headlamp. You just remove the screw from the base of the headlamp ring/surround, remove that and then undo a few screws and pull it out.
Then it's just a case of unplugging the lamp connector socket and fitting the new headlamp.
Don't forget that the side-light is attached and the hardest bit is if the screws are rusted, so be careful not to damage their heads. Perhaps a little soak with WD40 would help.

just some help pls
All you need (!) is the quadoptic headlamp kit S4698B (this contains both headlamps and the bulbs)
If you're missing the headlamp fittings, your best bet is to get two of the plastic headlamp bowl kits S5400, and two of the stainless steel trim rings 500929MS.
Good luck!

please help me out, head lamps????
all minis have the same wing pressings with exception of the mini clubman so all can use the same lights. while buying new lamps id fit uprated ones as they cost about the same and will not look like they have a candle as the power source. haogen bulbs give more light for same power (watts) parts u will need:
Headlamp bowls with retaining rings and rubber seals x2 S5400 http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=33057
Up rated halogen Head lamps for left hand drive x1 S4699B
